Summer Sensation

Bring a splash of summer in to your home with these brightly coloured bowls.  The Summer Sensation collection will brighten any room or table setting.  These bowls reflect the colours of summer and vibrancy of the plants and flowers around us.  The rims of the bowls are naturally rounded by the process and the imperfect shapes give a more organic feel to the final finish.

The bowls are quite heavy as they are made from many layers of coloured glass which is first  formed into a small "pie" of solid glass.  This "pie" is then re-heated at very high temperatures over many hours so that the glass flows and spreads out to form a larger shape.  When cool, more glass is added to give more patternation and fused in the kiln again before a final time in the kiln to form the bowl shape.

Each bowl in this collection is unique due to the random application of the glass and the variability in the flow process.
