Medium Bowl, Glen Lights, Greens, Yellow, White

This beautiful bowl has an organic design of mixed green and yellow forms, with a single clear strip that meanders between two white pieces of opaque glass, that make it a beautiful and captivating table centre piece.  The two layers of overlapping green and yellow colours create different hues as the bowl casts a glimpse of colour upon its setting.

Made from a layer of clear and white glass and two layers of hand-cut coloured glass strips, slightly offset to each other, this bowl starts life as a square.  For the first firing, two layers are fused together and then cold-worked before the third layer is added and fused.  The complete square is then cut into a circle and cold-worked before going into the kiln a final time to form into the mould.  The piece is then cold-worked again to produce the soft matt finish to the rim and soft edges.  The underneath of the bowl has not been cold-worked and retains the texture from the mould.
