This beautiful bowl has an organic design of mixed blue forms that make it a beautiful and captivating table centre piece. The two layers of overlapping blue colours create different hues as the bowl casts its colourful shadow upon its setting.
Made from a piece of clear glass and two layers of hand-cut blue-coloured glass strips, slightly offset to each other, this bowl starts life as a square. For the first firing, two layers are fused together and then cold-worked before the third layer is added and fused. The complete square is then cut into a circle and cold-worked before going into the kiln a final time to form into the mould. The piece is then cold-worked again to produce the soft matt finish to the rim and soft edges. The underneath of the bowl has not been cold-worked and retains the texture from the mould.
