Medium Bowl, Glen Lights, Amber

This beautiful bowl has an organic design of mixed amber forms, with a single rust-orange strip, that make it a beautiful and captivating table centre piece.  The two layers of overlapping amber colours create different hues as the bowl casts its colourful shadow upon its setting.

Made from two layers of hand-cut coloured glass strips, slightly offset to each other, this bowl starts life as a square.  For the first firing, the two layers are fused together to create a single pieces that is then cut into a circle.  The circle is then placed back into the kiln a final time to form into the mould.  The piece is then cold-worked again to produce the flat and soft matt finish to the rim and edges.  The underneath of the bowl has not been cold-worked and retains the texture from the mould.

This bowl is made with decorative glass and does not contain lead. Do not place the bowl in a microwave or a dishwasher as this will dull the glass, hand wash only with mild soap solution.
