This beautiful bowl with a design of small rainbow-coloured squares makes a beautiful and captivating table centre piece. As the light passes through the bowl casting its colourful shadow it is bound to be the centre of conversation.
Made from a piece of clear glass and two layers of hand-cut coloured-glass squares, slightly offset to each other, this bowl starts life as a square. After the first firing it is cut into a circle and cold-worked before going into the kiln a final time to form into the mould. The piece is then cold-worked again to produce the soft matt finish to the rim and soft edges. The underneath side of the bowl has not been cold-worked and retains the texture from the mould.
