Small Plate, Araby, Large Squares

The large squares Araby plate is created with layers of square pieces of glass.  Up to nine different colors are sometimes used in one piece that reflect the changing tones of the surrounding hills and mountains and the flora and fauna found in the area.

This plate can be used for side salads, small appetizers, savories, desserts or any of your other favorite treats.

The plate measures approx. 12.5cm x 12.5cm, (5" x 5")

Each plate is made from individually hand-cut pieces of glass that are layered on a single base piece of glass.  The assembled glass pieces are then kiln-fused up to a temperature of 1400F to create a single piece of glass with a textured feel.  Once cool, the piece is then placed on a mold and in the kiln for a second time up to a temperature of 1225F that softens the glass to the shape of the mold.  The entire process can take up to 72 hours.

This plate from our signature collection is food safe.  However, do not place the glass in a microwave or a dishwasher as this will dull the glass, hand wash only using a mild soap solution.
